JATV Information –
JATV is Janesville’s premier local access television station. Featuring programming of local Janesville events, community created content, and coverage of local government news. We are here to serve you!
The mission of Janesville Community Access Television, as a PEG Access channel, is to provide coverage of Public programs, Educational programs and coverage of Government meetings and committees.
It is also our mission to make available to residents a facility, equipment, training, and support for the production of quality, non-commercial programs. The purpose of the channel is to provide informational, educational, and entertaining local programs that reflect the community and the area.
The Hedberg Public Library operates the station under contract with the City of Janesville. Funding comes from a portion of the annual franchise fee the city receives from Charter Communications and AT&T. We also receive special donations and program sponsorships. The station is located on the lower level of the Hedberg Public Library in the Administrative office area.
Alan Luckett is the Station Manager of JATV Media Services. Alan began his career in Community Access television in 2000 by managing a Public, Education & Government (PEG) channel in Whitewater, WI.
We have full and part-time staff, as well as interns. Volunteers are always welcome! Please contact our studio to volunteer or inquire about employment openings.
Stay tuned for Videography classes! Station manager Alan Luckett will be offering classes to get you started producing your own videos. For more information, please call 608-758-5823.
Community Involvement –
Want to learn more about broadcasting or have an idea for a show on JATV? You could become a volunteer at the station. If you are an aspiring videographer you could check out a camera from us for FREE! We are always interested in new programming as well. We record everything from parades to local concerts and cover a variety of non-profit events throughout our community. If you are interested in having JATV at your event, give us a call or send an email. Non-profit organizations and individuals can also provide programs that meet the station’s Rules for Use. Copies of the rules are at the station and must be signed by all JATV program producers.
